Advisor Software was founded in 1995 based on Andrew Rudd's vision of bringing to the individual investor the technological innovation and analytics that have long been available in the institutional arena.  As co-founder and former chairman of Barra, Inc., and a widely acclaimed expert in quantitative analysis, asset allocation, modern portfolio theory and risk management, Mr. Rudd has made significant contributions to the world of quantitative finance.

 

As the wealth management industry has evolved over the past few decades, Mr. Rudd has seen the advantages of providing research and technology tools for helping retail investors manage their wealth to achieve their goals and get more personalized advice.  His vision for raising the bar in advice delivery included the introduction of software that addresses the typical individual investor's complex needs in considering multiple goals, non-investment resources and liabilities. By enabling financial advisors to manage risk in the context of the client's household balance sheet, this technology would set a new standard for advice delivery. 

 

Within the 13 years Advisor Software has been in existence, the company has achieved a number of industry firsts.  These include pioneering the industry's first independent, enterprise-level portfolio rebalancing solution, and the first solution to tie previously disjointed wealth management processes into one, dynamic, end-to-end platform for helping investors achieve their lifetime goals.  In addition, the company's products have been deployed at some of the world's largest financial institutions - firms that have put their faith in Advisor Software so that they can focus on helping advisors build trust with their clients.
